In 1977, Bill and Pat Bottino opened a small corner mini market in Woodlynne, N.J, with very little money and no experience. By the early eighties, the success of the mini market allowed the Bottino family to expand by purchasing a retail bakery and a catering business.
In 1985, as more family members entered the business, the Bottino’s decided to purchase an IGA supermarket in Bellmawr N.J. After a few challenging years, things turned around and the company began to grow again.
By 1993 the Bottino family had purchased and was operating three IGA supermarkets. Recognizing they needed larger stores to compete with chain stores, the Bottino’s, in 1996, decided to join the Wakefern/Shoprite group. After purchasing the Delsea Shoprite in 1998, the Bottino family built their first new Shoprite supermarket in Upper Deerfield, N.J. in 2000. After years of relocating and building new stores, the Bottino family now operates four state-of-the-art Shoprite stores in Upper Deerfield, Millville, Washington Township and their newest store in Vineland. They also operate two Shoprite liquor stores.
